Napa Valley Bookmine Code of Conduct

Napa Bookmine is a safe space for all. We value the dignity, diversity, and inclusion of everyone who comes through our doors or attends one of our events. Anyone shopping in our stores or participating at Bookmine events are required to adhere to Bookmine's code of conduct, as described below. This includes Napa Bookmine staff, speakers/presenters, volunteers, and attendees.

Napa Bookmine is committed to a harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harrassment, discrimination, or other unwelcome/unlawful behavior on the basis of  race, sex, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, ethnicity, and religion.

Behaviors that violate this policy include, but are not limited to:

  • Offensive verbal comments related to any of the categories above
  • Inappropriate physical contact
  • Sexual propositions or unwelcome sexual attention
  • Off-color or obscene jokes, remarks, or gestures
  • Intimidation, stalking, or following
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events
  • Unwelcome photography or recording

 

Napa Bookmine takes any violation of this policy very seriously. Anyone who violates this policy may, at the discretion of Napa Bookmine staff members, be asked to stop; may be expelled from a Bookmine event; may be prevented from attending future Bookmine events. 

If you are being harassed, observe someone else being harassed, or have concerns about potential violations of this policy, please notify a Bookmine staff member immediately. In the case of an emergency, call 911. In all other cases, if an appropriate Napa Bookmine staff member is not readily available, you can email naomi@napabookmine.com and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
